All about Sally

Sally graduated from the Durham School of Podiatry in 1998. Sally has had a varied podiatry career working within NHS Podiatry, independent practice, and even ran her own clinic in Fife.
Sally joined the Grant Podiatry, First For Footcare team, in May 2025.
Why did you choose Podiatry as a career?
I was fascinated by how foot health can have such a profound impact on a person’s overall well-being.
I was drawn to the idea of helping people regain mobility and improve their quality of life—whether it’s someone recovering from an injury or someone managing a chronic condition like diabetes.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The most rewarding part is seeing the difference I can make in someone’s life. Whether it’s relieving pain, helping a patient walk comfortably again, or supporting someone in managing long-term foot health challenges, those moments are incredibly fulfilling. It’s a privilege to play a role in improving someone’s quality of life, and I find great satisfaction in building trust and seeing the positive outcomes of the care I provide. I also enjoy the variety—no two days are ever the same, and I get to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
What made you want to join Grant Podiatry?
Grant Podiatry stood out to me because of its strong reputation for patient-centered care. I was impressed by the team’s collaborative approach and the emphasis on continuing education and professional development. It felt like a place where I could grow as a clinician while contributing meaningfully to the community.
Is there an area of podiatry you are particularly interested in?
I enjoy many aspects of podiatry and consider myself a generalist. I like to think of myself as a well-rounded clinician with experience across a broad spectrum—from routine podiatric care to more specialised procedures like nail surgery. This variety keeps my work engaging and allows me to adapt to the unique needs of each patient.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Outside of work, I love spending time in nature—especially exploring the outdoors with my dog. It’s a great way to recharge my batteries. I’ve recently taken up golf, which has been both a fun challenge and a nice way to unwind. I’m also a bit of a foodie, so I enjoy experimenting with new recipes at home and discovering local restaurants.
