3D Printed Foot Orthoses

The latest technology in foot orthoses

We are very excited to introduce a new form of customised foot orthoses in clinic, 3D printed foot orthoses.

3D printed foot orthoses are durable, comfortable and printed to the exact shape and specifications that your feet need.

How do 3D printed foot orthoses work?

Foot orthoses are devices made to be worn in your shoes.

Similar to any other foot orthoses, 3D printed foot orthoses are designed as a tool to help alleviate pain in the feet. They can adjust and influence the way you walk. They can also be used to redistribute pressure away from painful areas.

How do we make 3D foot orthoses?

3D foot orthoses are individually designed for your feet. Firstly we take a scan of your foot, using a scanner attached to our iPad. This creates a 3D scan of your foot. Then we create a prescription of what your foot orthoses will be designed to do, adding any features we would like to include specific to your condition. We then send this to our lab, where they design the foot orthoses on a computer program. Finally the design is send to the 3D printer and the printer gets to work making your orthoses.

What happens next?

Once the insoles come into clinic, we will contact you to come in for a fitting appointment. We would ask you to bring in a couple of pair of shoes you would normally wear. We will assess the fit of the new orthoses on your feet and in your shoes.

We would then discuss your wear in process and review your progress in about 4 weeks time.

Can they be adjusted?

Yes, we can make some adjustments to your 3D foot orthoses in clinic.

We are excited to introduce this new revolutionary orthoses manufacturing method in clinic. If you would like to know more about 3D printed foot orthoses, please contact our Falkirk clinic on 01324 621809 for an appointment.
